Q1. What are the dimensions of a bookcase?

The dimensions of the bookcase are Length:- 1211 mm (48 inches), Breadth:- 320 mm (13 inches), and Height:- 1405 mm (56 inches).

Q2.   What is Bookcase?

Bookcase is a piece of furniture designed for the storage or display of books or other printed material. It has horizontal shelves and can be used in private, public areas. It varies in height and can go up to ceiling height.

Q3.  Why/How do we fix Bookcase with the wall?   

Generally, we don’t need to fix the bookcase with the wall but we can do it to avoid falling by small kids, pets, and others. Fixing it also makes it Earthquake resistant.

The bookcase can be fixed to the wall with wall brackets, anchors, studs, Velcro, and others. It is fixed from the top edge to the wall or at the bottom to the wall with L-shaped angles.

Q4.  Difference between Bookshelf and Bookcase?

  • A bookcase is a close-sided unit that encases books and is designed to sit on the floor.
  • A bookshelf does not have encased ends and is usually designed to hang on a wall.
  • Bookcases tend to be more traditional than bookshelves and are often installed as permanent recessed fixtures in a home.
  • Bookshelves are not usually permanent fixtures. They also tend to be more modern in style.
